Over at the new gaf, I’m talking about ridiculously disgusting vertiginous heels, cataloguing my daily duds, wishing for knee-high socks and beautiful knitwear, astounded by the Topshop Unique show for London Fashion Week and waxing lyrical about copyright law. Phew! Long may this flurry of posting continue. . .
Well, over at my new site I’m waxing lyrical about Twitter, Mark Fast, beautiful photographies and Jimmy Choo for H&M – and it’s only day one. Check it out!

Having made the decision to streamline my life (beginning with a serious clear-out of things via eBay – more details soon), this is the last post I’ll make on this site, as I make the move over to the new and improved rosemarymaccabe.com. The new site will be a more professional take on personal, and will combine personal musings, fashion, narcissism, music andjournalism. Bated breath, I’m sure. See you there. . .

Well, y’all know by now of my love for Henry Holland - so you can imagine my delight when my inbox was brightened up this morning by the news that Henry (or Ánraoidh, as I like to call him) is to design a high street collection for Debenhams. I’ll be honest and say that Debenhams’ collaborations haven’t exactly set my world on fire in the past (John Rocha, Julien McDonald being the two names that spring to mind) but, given my grá for this young Brit, I have high, high hopes.

Perhaps the H! by Henry Holland collection will provide something affordable (ranging from €7.75 to €93) to compliment my HH for Pretty Polly colour-block tights. . . I’ll have to wait until spring 2010 to find out but I’ve got my fingers firmly crossed.

I like to think I’m improving. That’s what it could say on my report card, “improving” or “trying” (which was always a way of saying, “yes she’s a nice child but not very bright”, wasn’t it?). Anyway, today I was feeling a little grey – only in the tights and cardigan, and this is a bit of a cheat because I didn’t wear these amazing boots to work, I bought them on the way. But, had they been in my possession before I left, I would have worn them. Amazing.
Deets: floral patterned dress (which, in hindsight, not that flattering), A|Wear; grey tights, Marks & Spencer; faux suede boots, Penneys (yesterday morning – go buy and be happy, €17 and relatively comfortable); grey granny cardigan, bought about two Christmasses ago during the sales at Marks & Spencer; black belt, Penneys; black lace dress (worn underneath), Topshop; jewellery, Asos; except cuff, a gift from E.

Is fur having a bit of a moment? I think so; Anna loves it, after all, and what Ms Wintour says, goes. Whatever your views on real fur – check out Indiana’s poll to see what the majority share thinks – you can’t deny that fur looks great, if worn well. So what about this? I’m seeing it with leather-look leggings (that are not going away), suede shoe boots and a lot of jewellery. A mixture of textures and shapes for a melee of fashion fabulousness. Be still my beating heart. . .
I love the colour, I love the shaggy texture, I love that it’s only £55 from Asos – and I love that it’s going to last me all the way through to early S/S 2010 (come on, this is Ireland – we don’t get seasons).

My Henry Holland for Pretty Polly tights from MyTights arrived today – woop woop! So I may have to build tomorrow’s outfit around them. Although I may await a teeny tiny delivery from Asos before I do that. . . oh the excitement.
I won’t be wearing anything like this, but these are the tights (in blue and in purple), I blogged about them before on Susie, I wish I could wear them like her. Must brainstorm!

Today I am back in the world of outfit posting. I have (almost) mastered the tripod and I have (almost) mastered the art of getting up 10 minutes earlier for work so that I have time to take a photograph. Today’s pics are in two halves: before and after work, a kind of revision of an outfit (how crumpled is the waistband?!).

Okay so I know I look seriously grumpy. I need to work on giving some face. Like, smiling with my eyes a la Tyra. For now I find it difficult to concentrate on the timer and not making my boobs look wonky (see above for epic failure on that count) and trying to make my legs look long, or something. It’s all very complicated in an entirely narcissistic way. I’m sure you understand.
And now for the credits: brown and gold heels, Oasis; floral skirt, New Look; belt, Oasis; gold watch necklace, vintage; gold watch, Asos (is it stupid to wear two time-telling pieces of jewellery at once?); green dress (worn as a top), American Apparel; purple circle scarf, American Apparel; cardigan, Bershka (and, after a too-hot wash, on its last legs), cream pumps, Urban Outfitters. Yes, I changed out of my heels. I am a failure as a fashionista. Must try harder.
And now to the hair – readers (if I have any), I want to do something really different with my hair. Not, as in, maybe go brown – as in, a radically different cut. I am really tempted to go for an undercut. I know it’s very 1980s but . . . I like it. I’m thinking about doing just the sides, is this crazy? Please advise in the comments. Please. Or else it may be too late and I may do something mad and regret it!

A new weekly feature? We’ll see. I have enough trouble doing outfit posts – this week my goal is to organise myself as regards a tripod and take at least tri-weekly outfit photographs. But to the point: These are the style photographs of Delightfully Tacky. Art, music, food and clothing collide in her ridiculously dense and interesting blog.
What do I love about her style? A willingness to mix and match styles and patterns and, I won’t lie, her hair. I’m a sucker for a decent curly ‘do, and she got it down. A tutorial, if you will? I wonder, if I grew my hair that long, would it look like hers. . . Somehow I suspect not, my hair is, despite its curl, very thin.
Check her out and mosey on over to her blog – you won’t regret it.

Every time I take a wander over to her site and read through her posts, I emerge inspired, excited and, let’s face it, with a little bit of a crush.

So, really, I can’t be expected to post 24/7 about it. What I can say is: check out Style or New York Magazine and see what they have to say. They have people on the ground, y’know. Susie Bubble is also there – I tells ya, when I get sent over to cover NY Fashion Week, I’ll blog about it all day long!
One thing that has piqued my interest, though, is the S/S 2010 collection from British label, Preen.
Ruffles, silks, ropes – this is a collection I anticipate seeing on many a red carpet in the months to come. My pick? Of the four looks above (courtesy of New York magazine) I’d go for the fourth – a look I could almost anticipate recreating with some loose dresses of my own and one of the Le Sac dress strings from American Apparel.
